The Queen of Kindie Rock

The energy from the kids is so immediate and so sincere. Play a song for them, and if they’re into it, they’re jumping up and down. They’re so happy they’re screaming for the song. Playing in cover bands, it takes a couple hours for everyone to get drunk enough to get into it and respond.

– LAURIE BERKNER,

Inspired by the interview I listened to for last Wednesday’s post about parenting podcasts, today we’ll share the music of Laurie Berkner. Our family discovered Ms. Berkner from watching the Noggin series Jack’s Big Music Show. Laurie provided an upbeat but not patronizing soundtrack to the Hellions childhood.

This is our favorite of her songs…

And she’s step-in g up her game for the Covid 19 era, sharing songs from home during the time of social distancing. Laurie is definitely climbing up my list of Peak Humans.

Do you have a favorite kids musician, or maybe just something your kids loved? Or maybe you loved as a kid? Drop us a link in the comments!
